About this project
With projects ranging from the Villa Lena in Tuscany to Michelin-starred restaurant Leroy in Shoreditch, Fred Rigby of London-based furniture and interior design practice, Fred Rigby Studio has a flair for elevating the character in an environment while also making it liveable.
Whether renovating a rural country house or setting up a pop-up store, the design studio aims to bring different styles and periods to create an aesthetic with a hand-finished quality. A shared approach that ties together every design project the firm undertakes is a curated completeness that feels understated yet warm and inviting.
Upon entering Alighieri Jewellery, visitors walk into a light-toned room with structural columns and refined materials such as wood. Natural light pours in from an expansive window, further emphasising the architectural lines of the interior.

The product
Reclaimed mid-century pine wood flooring adds to the interiors’ timeless yet sophisticated charm. The genuinely aged timber boards tell tales of past use and lend a salient effect that’s sure to spark conversation and intrigue.
A selection of dark-stained wood furniture complements the reclaimed timber floorboards and cater to everyday function for the Alighieri Jewellery team, while also providing a welcoming and comfortable environment for visitors and customers. To create something unexpected, Rigby chose to bring the outside in with indoor plants that play with scale and help forge a calming shopping experience.
